Your Guide to Staying in Tea Gardens & Hawks Nest: Answers to Our Top 5 Guest Questions

Planning a getaway with Tea Gardens Real Estate Holidays? We’re here to make your stay as easy, relaxed and enjoyable as possible. To help you settle in quickly, we’ve rounded up the five most commonly asked guest questions — and answered them all in one place.

1. Is linen provided?

This is one of our most frequently asked questions, and the answer is: it depends on the property.

Across the Tea Gardens–Hawks Nest region, most holiday homes focus on keeping accommodation costs more affordable. Because of this, many properties do not include linen as standard, and guests are asked to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, and towels.

That said, every listing is different — so it’s important to check the individual property description when booking. Some homes do offer linen or optional hire services, so you’ll always find the details clearly outlined before you arrive.

2. What are the best things to do in the area?

If you’re visiting Tea Gardens or Hawks Nest, you’re in for a nature-filled escape. This is a destination where the pace slows down and the outdoors takes centre stage.

🌿 Explore nature & walking trails

  • Wander along the Myall River foreshore
  • Take in the coastal views at Yacaaba Headland walking track
  • Enjoy peaceful bushland trails throughout Myall Lakes National Park

🏖️ Beaches & swimming

  • Swim or relax at one of our pristine beaches, Bennett’s being patrolled at times and Jimmy’s the more calm waters for younger children
  • Discover quieter river swimming spots along the Myall River
  • Hire a boat to cruise the Myall River in a small runabout (no licence required).

🐶 Dog-friendly adventures

You’ll find several dog-friendly stretches and walking areas nearby, making this a great escape for the whole family — including the four-legged members.

🎨 Something a little different

  • Myall Street Studio Clay Play – a creative, hands-on experience perfect for kids and adults alike (available year-round)
  • Local golf club activities including bingo nights and holiday-season discos for family-friendly entertainment

It’s a destination that blends relaxation, nature and just the right amount of local fun.

3. Where are the best places to eat?

You won’t find fast-food chains here — and that’s exactly the point.

Dining in Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest is all about fresh seafood, local hospitality, and laid-back coastal charm.

🍽️ Local favourites include:

  • Tea Gardens Hotel – a local icon offering classic pub meals, river views and a relaxed atmosphere
  • Local cafés throughout Tea Gardens for great coffee, breakfast and brunch options
  • Fish & Chips along the Myall River, take your pick form Mumm’s take away window and or Hook N Cook Takeaway, some tasty bites with a stunning river view.

🚐 Getting around for dinner

Some local licensed venues also offer courtesy buses, especially during weekends and holiday periods — making it easy to enjoy a night out without worrying about the drive home.

4. Where do we drop the keys when we leave?

Returning your keys is easy and depends on where you collected them from.

For properties located in town, keys should be returned to the Tea Gardens Ray White office.

For homes in our more remote locations such as Pindimar, Bundabah and North Arm Cove, keys are usually returned to the onsite lockbox.

As a simple rule: return the keys to the same place you collected them from — office pickups return to the office, lockbox pickups return to the lockbox. Full details will always be included in your arrival instructions.

5. Is there a coffee machine in the property?

We know this is an important one — and the answer is: it varies by property.

The good news is that every listing clearly outlines what’s included, including whether there is a coffee machine and what type it is (pod machine, espresso machine, etc.). If you cannot find this information, drop our staff an email for assistance stay@teagardensrealestate.com.au

So whether you’re a flat-white lover or a plunger purist, you can book with confidence knowing your caffeine needs are covered — or plan ahead and bring your favourite setup if needed.

Your coastal escape, made simple

Whether you’re planning beach days, river walks, fishing trips or simply time to unwind, Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest offer a relaxed, nature-first holiday experience that keeps guests coming back year after year.
