Lakes Trail Festival
- Hawks Nest NSW, Australia

- 04 Oct 2025
- 6:00 am to 3:00 pm
Welcome to Australia’s freshest ultra trail running event, traversing the Great Lakes region of the NSW North Coast – the LAKES Trail Festival. The LAKES is run by Fully Rad Adventures, a boutique family… based adventure company that has a clear focus on the runner experience and connection to community. At the LAKES runners can complete 100km, 70km, 50km or 30km. There is also a 12km course for those wanting a shorter trail experience and a 1km Lakes Kids run. The race based out of Hawks Nest taking runners along beaches, past lakes and through forests, tracking some of the most stunning coastal scenery in Australia. It has arguably the most spectacular half way point on the east coast, taking runners past the iconic Seal Rocks lighthouse. The LAKES is the only chance you will get to run the incredible Dark Point sand dunes. Each course follows existing tracks and trails, beaches, lake edges and single track. This trail running experience will be unique as it combines coastal trails with forest tracks, sand dunes, beaches and rocky headlands taking runners through remote wilderness areas. You can run solo or in a team. Solo runners can go for a quick run or go all day in the ultimate 100km. Teams, of up to 4, can run the 100km course separated into 4 legs and get to finish together. Teams of 2 can run the 50km. Mark your calendar — race weekend kicks off Friday 3 October, with racing on Saturday 4 October 2025. It’s the perfect time of year for an epic run: longer days, mild temps, and those iconic clear spring skies. Come run the LAKES.

Myall Classic
- Tea Gardens NSW, Australia

- 8:00 am
The Myall Classic is a major multi-distance event on the NSW paddling calendar. It is held on the Myall River at Tea Gardens each September on the last Saturday (ie 6 days) before the school holidays,… taking both competitive and recreational paddlers up the Myall River and return. There are a range of distances and starting times, intended to see all paddlers complete their chosen course by early afternoon. Distances offered are 12km, 27km and 47km, the longer course being a perfect preparation for the Clarence 100 and longer events such as the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic held in early November. Due to its protected nature, the Myall Classic is a safe, scenic though testing event in the largely unspoilt Great Lakes Marine Park. Conditions can vary considerably though the usual scenario presents paddlers with clear blue skies and warm weather. A light Easterly breeze is usually present in the early afternoon. Three course distances are: 47km course to Tamboi, and return. 27km course to Engels Reach pontoon, and return. 12 km course to a Tamboi Queen Jetty, and return. Special Student Challenge Course 27km course to Engels Reach pontoon and return, 9.30am start only. Paddlers can select from 2 start times for each of the open 47km and 27km distances. Slower paddlers (who paddle at speeds less than 10kmh average) MUST start in the earlier start for each distance.
